As part of LendLease’s commitment to improve economic and environmental outcomes on its projects, the business wanted to give tenants at Barangaroo South control over their energy consumption.
Believed to be the first of its kind, the program provides updates at five-minute intervals for each of the 159 apartments. As well as being able to view their energy consumption, tenants can also see their greenhouse gas contribution and running costs.
WideSky developed TenantView, an application that enables occupants to view their utility usage on their mobile devices, in real-time.

TenantView enabled LendLease to obtain additional green star points for its residential buildings, and deliver improved rental yields for owners.
The development of the application has also had wider economic and social benefits, including improved air quality, reduced energy and water consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions and increased wellbeing.
Based on the success of TenantView at Barangaroo South, other large organisations are now seeking to add value to their services, to improve the benefit to customers and the environment.
